FEDA (Friends Economic Development Association) is a Cambodian NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) working to empower Cambodian people living in rural areas. Set up in 1994 as a group of local volunteers, FEDA set out together to build peaceful, positive futures for their community.
FEDA supports education and income generation projects, such as the women’s garment construction initiative, credit loans, tree planting, dry-rice farming, peace workshops, a restaurant, a youth band, a shop, an internet café and the children’s educational centre known as the House of Light and Knowledge. Education and income generation possibilities have been created for young women and men through FEDA, and there is a new sense of hope and community has not seen since before the devastation brought with the Khmer Rouge years.
